Iqra Sweet Home, a CSR initiative of Iqra University, was established in 2013 with the mission to provide homeless children with a nurturing environment that supports both their education and well-being. Founded by the late Mr. Hunaid Lakhani, Founder and Chairman of Iqra University, this noble project continues under the leadership of his sister, Ms. Maheen Lakhani. Our goal is to transform the lives of underprivileged children, equipping them with the skills and resources to build a brighter future.

Introduction of Hunaid Lakhani (1973 - 2022)
Hunaid Hussain Lakhani was a renowned educationist, philanthropist, and social worker in Pakistan. He was the founder and chancellor of Iqra University, which grew into one of the country’s largest private-sector institutions of higher learning. He also served as the chairman of Sindh Baitul Maal, actively supporting various welfare initiatives.
His dedication to social work extended to disaster relief, free medical camps, COVID-19 hospitals, and blood donation drives. He was also associated with Iqra Sweet Home, an orphanage project, and Watan Foundation, which provided clean drinking water and rural health services.
He held a degree in business administration from The American College, Los Angeles, and later completed the Owner-President Management Program at Harvard Business School in 2006. He also had experience in the construction industry before shifting his focus to education and social welfare.
In recognition of his remarkable contributions to education and philanthropy, Mr. Hunaid Lakhani was honored with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by the President of Pakistan..
We continue to provide scholarships to deserving students, ensuring they can access quality education without the burden of financial constraints.
In addition to the Ration Card System, our monthly ration drives have distributed over 3,300 ration bags, helping alleviate hunger and food insecurity in the community.
